Assam Forest Department Recruitment 2019 : Research Associate- III/Research Associate- II/Senior Research Fellow/Junior Research Fellow

Assam Forest Department Recruitment Details : 

The Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India under the ‘Climate Change Programme’ have approved a proposal of Assam Government for Establishing/ Strengthening Assam State Climate Change Centre / Cell to provide technical support to the Assam Forest Department in taking actions for climate change management in the State of Assam.

Under the project applications are invited for engaging suitable manpower purely on contractual basis against following positions initially for a period of one (1) year.

Name Of The posts :

1. Research Associate- III
Qualification : Doctorate in Life Sciences / Climate Science OR First Class Masters Degree in Life Sciences / Environmental Sciences with a minimum of Five years of Research experience in the same fields.
Experience : Work experience in Climate Change vulnerability and risk assessment/Adaptation and Mitigation OR Work experience in government sector/NGO’s/ Donor agencies /Research Institutes OR Experience in Office administration
Age : 35 years
Salary : Rs. 40,000/- pm
Nature of Work : Climate vulnerability and risk assessment/ Development of District level Climate actions for SAPCC/ NDC/SDG/ Accessing Climate funds

2. Research Associate- II
Qualification : First Class / High Grade Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism & Mass Communication OR First Class MA in Mass Communication OR Three (3) years of experience in carrying out outreach programmes / Trainings Workshops etc.
Experience : Working experience in government sector/ NGO’s/ Donor agencies /Research Institutes OR Work experience in climate issues / Gender issues OR Experience in Office administration
Age : 30 years
Salary : Rs. 38,000/- pm
Nature of Work : Plan and execute outreach programmes for Capacity building and public awareness on Climate Change related issues, Proposal development for the cell on Capacity Building

3. Research Associate- II
Qualification : First Class M.Sc. / M. Tech OR High Grade Technical Diploma in GIS OR with five years of working experience in GIS Experience :
Experience : Working experience in advanced GIS software OR experience in Climate Modeling and analysis OR Experience in Office administration
Age : 28 years
Salary : Rs. 38,000/- pm
Nature of Work : Technical Expert (GIS) – Mapping through GIS, Modeling, analysis and other works related to the Climate Change Cell

4. Senior Research Fellow
Qualification : First Class Masters Degree in Life Sciences/Environmental Science/Geography
Experience : Work experience in Biodiversity / Climate Change related issues
Age : 25 years
Salary : Rs. 28,000/- pm
Nature of Work : Climate vulnerability and risk assessment/ Development of District level Climate actions for SAPCC/ NDC/SDG/ Proposal Development, Monitoring and Evaluation.

5. Junior Research Fellow
Qualification : First Class Masters in Life Sciences/Environmental Science/Geography.
Experience : Work experience in Biodiversity / Climate Change related issues
Salary : Rs. 25,000/- pm
Nature of Work : Field Studies and surveys/ Data Analysis / Report preparation, Modeling
